DeHavilland DH82 Tiger Moth: WarPaint #101 SC

de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth by Adrian M. Balch

The de Havilland Tiger Moth must rank amongst the most well-known aircraft of all time, with 8, 868 built in the UK and abroad, serving with around 40 air arms worldwide and training thousands of pilots from the 1930s throughout WW2 to the early 1970s, when the last of the Fleet Air Arm Tiger Moths was retired. Even today, in civilian hands, some 250 are still flying around the world and are still seen in numbers at air shows in the UK and abroad.
Now with the recent release of good plastic kits in all the popular scales and numerous
after-market decal sheets, it is timely that this comprehensive Tiger Moth book is brought to you as an invaluable reference for your shelves.

Author Adrian Balch takes you through the type's history, with notes on each air arm's operations, and over 90 rare, top quality colour photos illustrate some of the many colourful schemes, both military and civil. Also there are detailed close-ups of the salient features and various modifications made to the type.
Renowned artist Richard Caruana enhances the book with more of his superb authentic
colourful profiles, making this a 'must have' book for the modeller, whether your interest is civil or military.

Published 2015, 45 pages, 90+ black & white and colour photographs, 46 colour profiles, 1 colour 3-view, 1:48 scale plans, softcover, A4 format, 21 cm x 29.7 cm

Produced by Hall Park Books editor Alan W. Hall, these British produced and printed A4 magazine format (21 cm x 29.7 cm) books each describe in accurate detail a particular aircraft type, with the modeler and aviation enthusiast in mind. Most volumes include 1:72 scale three view plans, and a selection of colour profiles as well as black & white and colour photographs, including detail / walk around photos. A concise history of the type is included, in some cases including international operators.

Aircraft titles range from World War I to the post war period, and include the majority of RAF and Fleet Air Arm aircraft, but also feature many USAAF, USAF, US Navy and Luftwaffe machines. Few contemporary aircraft are featured as Warpaints discuss and illustrate the definitive history of the aircraft involved. Experienced and well established authors and artists are employed in order to accurately portray the subject aircraft, and every effort is made to include previously unpublished information or images. Warpaint Books vary in length and thus page count depending on the content, and are priced accordingly.
