Affectionately known as the "Big E," as well as as the "fightingest ship in the Navy," the Enterprise racked up one of the most impressive tallies of damage to the enemy of any Allied warship during WWII. This book explores Enterprise's design and construction, wartime activities, and ultimate postwar decommissioning and scrapping through carefully researched photos, many of which have never before been published. The clarity and large size of many of the photos, coupled with descriptive and informative captions, put the reader on the deck of this historic warship throughout its famed history.

Started in 2017, The Legends of Warfare series by Schiffer series covers Aviation, Naval and Ground forces including aircraft of all types in a beautiful 9” x 9” hardcover format. Predominantly covering military aircraft from all eras, more volumes are being added each season. Each book is a concise history of a particular type of aircraft, well illustrated with over 100 black and white and colout photogrpahs, and black & white line drawings and plans. Page counts vary depending on the aircraft, and some types are covered two volumes.
