A well known family of model kits, the Academy Mig-29's have stayed, since 1993, at the top of the heap ! Regarded as the best Mig-29 on the market in 1/48 scale, competition has come only recently [ 2012 ] from Great Wall Hobby, but at triple the price !
A solid, clean, all plastic kit that can be built right out of the box, fanatics can 'take it to town' with all kinds of after-market detail parts & decals that proliferate online specifically for it. The mold has been respected enough by manufacturers such as Eduard, Kora & Wolfpack Designs to use it in their Limited releases, featuring their own blend of detail & decal parts.
This kit should not pose a fuss for the beginning modeler, but applying the decals may be a challenge to the uninitiated ! There is no easy way to replicate this famous camouflage scheme in model form, this solution as offered by Academy is as simple as it can get- and with proper care, the final result should be successful. Make sure you get plenty of sleep & drink plenty of water before attempting this action ! You can not rush this process- just relax & enjoy the activity. Rest assured, that if you screw up the process, if anything goes wrong- I am here to sell you a more expensive sheet of decals* from one of my top suppliers so you can try it again ! Good luck !
