F14D VF-31 'Tomcatters' CAG Final Tomcat Cruise , OC NAS Oceana 1:72**Collection sale**
2006 issue, discontinued. MINT, sealed- complete with all parts & stand. Model is still WIRED into it's case- never opened ! Complete with flimsy, factory sealed plastic stand [my advice- don't use it- this is a heavy model !!]
Dragon Models have many small parts that need to be fitted into place. They are quite demanding & require focus. If you can build a model kit, then this skill will be to your advantage ! Please do not buy any Dragon model unless you have the necessary focus to assemble it properly ! These are NOT for kids !!
For those who are unfamiliar with the Dragon Wings Warbirds series, these are very similar to the current JC Wings military diecast models & require careful assembly. Diecast models with lots of plastic detail parts, these can NOT be bashed together carelessly as you will certainly break something ! Take your time & enjoy the assembly process for best results. You may even need a dusting of glue to keep some parts in place. This series of models pre-dated both Witty Wings/Sky Guardians and JC Wings & set the stage for Hobbymaster a few years later.
The stand that was issued with this model & in fact, the entire series of Dragon Wings Warbird models was the same plastic stand that was issued with every 1:400 scale diecast airliner model at that time. These stands will hold up a 1:400 scale airliner, but not so much one of these heavy 1:72 scale monsters! The stands are too flimsy for this purpose & you risk your model being knocked off or tipping over. Both Witty & JC Wings issued purpose built 1:72 scale metal stands for their models & these should work with the corresponding Dragon models [ we have seen them used with success].Â
