When I state that a model is 'MINT', that means that it has not been messed with & remains in it's factory issued state, plus or minus some natural aging that cannot be prevented. This model is 'Mint' as it has not been messed with, but it left the factory with some kind of 'rash' on the wings.
I am guessing that the model was not cleaned properly before painting or a poorly mixed alloy was used.
This is not zinc rot- zinc rot would cause the metal to twist or splinter, or even turn it into a pile of flour !
Presents well in spite of defect. Priced thus [ I would be asking $60.00+ for a nice copy ].
