Product description

FINEMOLDS BF109G6 FINNISH 1:72

The Finnish Airforce received it's first aircraft- a Thulin Type D reconnaissance aircraft from Swedish Count Eric von Rosen in 1918. He had painted his personal symbol of luck, a blue swastika, on the wings of the aircraft. That symbol then became the national insignia [ the hakaristi] of all Finnish Air Force aircraft from 1918 until 1945. After WW2, the swastika was dropped in favour of the blue & white roundel which remains in force today. The blue swastika still remained on certain Airforce badges & regalia until at least 2017.

The nazi party did not exist in 1918. Interestingly enough, Eric von Rosen became a nazi sympathizer in the 1930s.

Read your history books, folks- fact is stranger than fiction ! [& more entertaining !]
