Centre main gear sets itself properly when placed on a flat surface- left loose for this purpose, as issued. Earlier B747-400 issues had all the gear glued in fully at the factory- if it was not done properly the model would rock when placed on a flat surface ! Many new models have this feature so that the models do not rock.
