B707-320 American N8415 [polished] 1:400**Collection sale
Slightly loose tail fins, in no danger of falling out- this is due to age & manner of construction. They cannot be removed & re-glued as the tail 'plug' that holds them in place is firmly glued. This is how the model was made- it is an earlier mould & no longer in use. If there was any glue holding the tail fins secure, it has long since aged & lost it's grip. Again, no danger folks- keep calm & carry on !
The metal finish has taken on a slightly cloudy appearance. This is due to the model being 'entombed' in plastic for two decades. This is a common problem for many metal finish models- many of them don't get displayed & sit wrapped in plastic which, over time, reacts with the metal & makes it cloudy. Painted surfaces don't react to plastic in this way, but metal does. I say this from experience ! Display your metal finish models kids !- you are not doing them any favours by sealing them up in plastic !
Small scuff on top of the fuselage, again, mentioned to keep the perfectionists away.Â
