Aeroclassics BAC111-400 American 'Astro-Jet' N5039 1:400 *Collection Sale
The engines are loose but are not in any danger of falling out of their slot. This is a very early Andrew Klein model, made by Western Models of England. There is a large screw which holds the wing box & lower fuselage to the upper fuselage, & also keeps the engines secured in their place. This piece happens to have the engines loose as the join is not tight enough, but they are safe- they just rattle a bit. Hard to say it's a defect- this is due to the antiquated manner of production of these early Aeroclassics pieces. You can try to tighten the screw if you feel brave, but I would just leave it alone. I should be asking about $80.00 for this model, but have lowered the price to $70.00 to make you all happy. Please do not buy this model if you cannot handle the loose engines. There are 399 other copies out there somewhere- go get 'em, tiger !
