Originally issued by COLLECTION ARMOUR from Italy circa 2001, the line was purchased by FRANKLIN MINT & continued thusly until the Mint's 'demise' a few years later. This was one of several different B17's issued by ARMOUR/FRANKLIN MINT over several years, including RAF & Swiss versions and remains the only 1/48 scale diecast B17 mould ever made. It is highly unlikely that these models will ever be re-issued. Since we retailed these models from beginning to end, I can safely say that the better selling models were re-issued several times as required and did not subscribe to any 'limited run' restrictions. Having said this, I am not suggesting that these models exist in huge numbers, but they certainly do turn up on ebay and elsewhere quite frequently [ some for very silly prices !].
This model has been displayed but has survived in excellent condition. It is complete with paperwork & box [ in nice shape ] but the box is labelled for a different B17. The ARMOUR/FRANKLIN MINT boxes were generic & did not have any graphics specific to the model inside. Obviously, the model is large AND heavy, thus will cost a small fortune to ship. I recommend, if at all possible, an in-store pick up as this will save you money and diminish any chances of the model being damaged by shipping.
Please take care removing this item from it's box, or putting it back in. It is cumbersome and small parts can easily get knocked off. This model is totally fine & nothing is loose, broken or missing.
